I’m not entirely sure why this is “the Board Game” version of Lord of the Rings, as I know there are more popular LOTR tabletop games out there, but this Lord of the Rings Board Game is the one we’ve played the most, though not as much as the one we made ourselves. This one pits the Hobbits in a cooperative effort against Sauron in an attempt to deliver the ring to Mordor. You pick up different cards and items to help you in the quest along the way, but have to use them wisely to deal with different catastrophic events that come your way. We’ve only played it a few times and I don’t think we’ve actually defeated it, as this game is quite challenging to complete and not quite fun enough to keep us trying, but I’d like to complete it some day.
