Tarfful – Geektopia Games

Tarfful

Minor(s): Chewbacca of Kashyyk

We’ve struggled a bit to get this one right. We think the current version is a winner but it hasn’t gotten a lot of play as of yet.

What does this deck do:  The wookies stick together to maximize their damage.

1x POINT BLANK SHOT

2x WOOKIE CHARGE
Move Tarfful and Chewbacca up to 4 spaces each. Draw a card.

1x WOOKIE HEALING

Chewbacca – 4 Talent Cards

2x WARRIOR BORN
A4. After attacking, move Chewbacca up to 4 spaces.

1x BOWCASTER
A9. Draw a card.

Shared – 2 Talent Cards

2x LIMB FROM LIMB
Tarfful and Chewbacca each do 2 damage to each enemy character adjacent to him.

Themes: Wookies that cluster together, charge you and tear you limb from limb
Path to Victory: WOOKIE MIGHT or POINT BLANK SHOT or WOOKIE CHARGE + LIMB FROM LIMB
Strengths: High damage output, high hit points
Weaknesses: Low defense, hard to preserve both characters
Strategy: Blast away from a distance, keep a few tricks for up close
Test Level: Low with this iteration
Tier: 3 (that’s the goal and our best guess)

Inspiration: Sultan has done more than one really fun version of this deck.  We finally hammered one into the version we wanted, or at least close to one, by borrowing Robert Moore’s POINT BLANK SHOT, a Leia card from his Chewie & Leia deck.

Playing Tarfful & Chewbacca: Cluster Tarfful and Chewbacca together to use WOOKIE MIGHT, then have them charge you with WOOKIE CHARGE or WARRIOR BORN and tear you LIMB FROM LIMB (Sultan’s card idea). POINT BLANK SHOT (Robert Moore’s card idea) adds to Tarfful’s short range game and combines with LIMB FROM LIMB.

Playing against Tarfful: Like any other 2-personality deck, you want to try to take one of them out of the game early. Their lack of defense makes this difficult to avoid, so take advantage of whichever character they offer you. Given the choice, go after Tarfful.
