Between 2 Cities is a cooperative deck-drafting game that first published in 2015. Each player co-builds two cities with the players to his right and left and tries to get his 2 cities to score as much as they can, but it’s still an individual’s glory to take at the end of the game. There are different ways you can go about setting up your city, as different city tiles combine with other tiles for scoring bonuses and the like. In the end, you’ve built hopefully two beautiful cities, and you’ll see how it scores compared to the other cities out there. Your lower of the two scores is the one that counts, so letting one city lag behind the other is a losing strategy! The game works with 4, 5, 6 or even 7 players pretty well.
A recent addition but it’s quickly becoming a staple because it’s quick but also quick to learn, strategic and cooperative, yet individual at the same time. Playing in 2017 resulted in a very close game with all 4 cities within a few points of each other, highlighting a well balanced game.
